Isa. 18: 7.  But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
 8.  For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
 

Now look who he said erred here - the prophet and priest - see two of those shepherds Jesus cut off.  So why did they err?  Because they could not understand or drink the strong drink of the NEW WINE = THE GOSPEL OF JESUS AND HIS KINGDOM.

See the Holy Ghost is called 'wine' in the word.  They accused the disciples of being drunk on wine at Pentecost.  See?  This is the identification of the wine here.  So, those who clung to 'Moses' or law, erred from this wine,  they could not drink or understand it.  See, they  STUMBLED IN JUDGMENT = THEY COULD NOT JUDGE THAT THIS WAS THE TRUE MOVE OF GOD;  THEY THOUGHT GOD WOULD ALWAYS BE WITH THEM,  THE MOSES PEOPLE.

But see, their tables, ( or 'eating place = their doctrine) was vomit and filthiness; no place left in that old covenant which was clean.  It is the very same in the church world today.

 9.  Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
 10.  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
 11.  For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
 12.  To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

So he asks to whom could he teach true knowledge and doctrine.  He said those 'weaned' from the milk, and breasts; = those who got away or free from that mama whore, the Old priests and prophets, = law.  But now it is the same old whore as a church.

They were to get a little at a time.  See, he gave them the true  REST  OF  GOD =  with stammering lips and another tongue he spoke to that people.  This is prophecy of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost the true flock of God received at Pentecost.  They were the ones who came into the true rest and were refreshed in God.

 13.  But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
 14.  Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
 15.  Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

Now here He speaks to those scornful rulers in old Jerusalem (law covenant)--(see that they scorned the Holy Ghost, just as most people do today)--they were the ones who refused the true 'food' and went back (back to the Old Covenant, so they were broken (same as Jesus cutting them off and not feeding them)--and snared and taken.  These are the ones TAKEN  and cast into the furnace of fire at the end of this age.

So they said We have made a  COVENANT.  Who with?  They had that old COVENANT=  BUT THAT LAW WAS DEATH -- PAUL SAID IT IS THE LAW OF SIN AND       DEATH.  It sent them to hell; for they rejected the New and true  COVENANT .

So what were they saying?   WE  HAVE  THE  OLD  COVENANT  = LAW COVENANT-- WE ARE NOT TURNING IT LOOSE---  WE MADE A COVENANT WITH   DEATH  AND HELL = THOSE TWO RIDERS ON THE FOURTH HORSE UNDER THE FOURTH SEAL IN REV.

It was the law, the prophets and priests.  This is the covenant they had made and they were not going to give it up.  They were counting on this covenant to be a refuge to them and keep them from the wrath of the Lamb.

Jesus called it falsehood.  It cannot save them nor protect them.  It is DEATH TO THEM.

(and to anyone still clinging to it).

(come on enemies of this truth!)  Let the truth come out.

So you see, it was not MILKY   CHRISTIANS,  AS YOU THOUGHT.  IT WAS THOSE CLINGING TO LAW WHEN THEY COULD HAVE GRACE.

IT WAS THOSE WHO REFUSED THE MILK OF THE WORD AND THE MEAT.  THOSE OF US WHO GOT AWAY FROM THE MILK, THE OLD MOTHER, GOT INTO THE WORD ARE THE FREE ONES.

THE LAW THEN IS THIS MILK WHICH WE MUST GET AWAY FROM IN ORDER TO EAT THE MEAT OR TRUTH OF THE N.T.

The eating of Jesus' blood and his flesh means those of us who understand the true teachings of the gospel of Jesus = grace.  Faith, the kingdom; not old law.
