Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, 3. And say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite. 4. And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. 5. None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born. 6. And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. 7. I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. (See without grown hair, she was naked and bare.) Now in verse 7 God is telling Jerusalem, who is likened to a comely and delicate WOMAN, that by his causing them to ‘live’ and blessing them, their HAIR IS GROWN. See before he found her and blessed her, her HAIR WAS NOT GROWN. Then the long or grown hair was and is a sign of His Blessing upon a woman or Church or Nation. 8. Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine. 9. Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. This is showing the blessing God gave Jerusalem (the true Church) at Pentecost --- he washed them and made them clean; gave them life; caused their hair to grow out; anointed them with the oil of the Holy Ghost; and beautified them with salvation. That is what all these verses are showing. It is figurative language showing the true Spiritual condition after Pentecost. So by this, for a woman to cut off her hair is showing that they have turned away back from the Pentecost blessing and salvation. Don’t be deceived; this is of more importance than any of us realize! 10. I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. 11. I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. 12. And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head. 13. Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. 14. And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee saith the Lord God. 15. But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. 16. And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so. 17. Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, 18. And tookest thy broidered garments and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them. 1Tim. 2: 9. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 1 Peter 3: 1. Likewise, ye wives be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2. While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 3. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4. But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Now in the above Scriptures we have both Peter and Paul, the two main Apostles agreeing as the two witnesses needed to confirm this teaching, that women must not plait or broid their hair. Why? This would be doing away with the ‘covering’. See that in verse 4 he spoke of these things as ‘ornaments’? This is showing same thing Eze. Is speaking of, that they took the blessings God gave them and made them into idols and offered them is worship of idols. People this is staggering in its true meaning: it is saying they took the Holy Ghost, the oil, and the grown hair and turned them into idols. They did this by making dead church services instead of the life of the H.G. They took their grown hair and cut it off and curled and plated it up and balled it up on their heads to make themselves sexy and lustful. They (the church) took the gifts of the Holy Ghost which he had anointed them with and refused them, turning instead to doctors and such. They denied the things of God and turned to the worldly things He had rescued them from! This is an abomination to the Living God and a spit in his face. It causing shame to be upon his blessing. Gen 35:1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. Ge 35:2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: Ge 35:3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Ge 35:4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. Do all things in moderation. Let women dress in modest apparel as becometh women professing Godliness. Some things must be brought to light by the leading of the Spirit of God. I believe that anyone who is sincerely wishing to please God and do things his way, having their own will under subjection to God’s will, they will be able to find these right answers. The above verses show that when Jacob was ready to return to his own land and get his family right with God, they were told to put away all the strange gods and to change their garments. See these things are spiritually discerned. Being clean, represents being washed by the blood of Jesus and water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins. Changing their garments shows the change the Holy Ghost gives as we become new creatures in Christ Jesus. Arise, shows the likeness of his resurrection, as we arise to walk in newness of life. They willingly gave to Jacob all the strange gods and all their earrings. Jacob then hid them. So now, they are cleaned up and ready to go meet Jacob’s God, the only true God. We cannot go by the things the Israelites did because they were always in rebellion to God and serving their idols. They were therefore under the law. The law was made for the ungodly and the unrighteous. They wore lots of Jewelry. But notice that Jacob’s family got rid of theirs, as they represented the New Testament Christians, at this point. No honest person could look at women in pants, and think that this is becoming to women professing Godliness. We all know that pants fit a woman’s body in a totally different manner than they do a man’s body. When I first saw women in pants, after I repented of mine, back in my early 20’s, I was appalled at how ugly it revealed her private parts! I was ashamed I had ever looked like that. I sometimes wear warm-up pants at home alone or to go for my walks in the winter time. I only walk in private places, not out in public. I sometimes worry about even this, but I think it is a thing which is where we must not become so legalistic that we cannot even move hardly. There is a point where it looses its FAITH, and becomes a straining-at the knat, thing. I do not wear pants, only a warm-up suit in private, for warmth only. When I go out in public, I always wear decent dresses. I do not say it is a sin to trim dead ends off hair. I think this is also a straining-at-the Knat. But there comes a time when one must decide for themselves if they trust the person doing the trimming. Most people hate that long hair, and take advantage of her, and cut off too much. It has happened to me. The last time I had that done, they did just that. And I hate it. I have decided to not let it be done anymore. I do not wish to cut off my glory. I do not wish to displease God. I love the long hair. But one can trim the dead ends off, and still have long hair. That is my stand. God did use the giving of Jewelry to show his blessings. I do not think it is a sin to wear simple jewelry. I think it is when one puts on so much they are just drawing attention to their own self-conceit. A true Christian can wear a simple piece without pride, just as a part of the out-fit. I do not wear rings or such. But I do not think it is sin to do so. I simply do not like them. I think pride can enter in too easily in these things. But I could not say it is a sin for the Word does not say that. It brings in the wearing of apparel in the same verses as the wearing of gold. So surely we all know that we should wear some apparel? If not, then it would be nakedness. He is only saying do not over dress, so as to fall into pride and self-centeredness. We can dress nicely and still please God. I do not see sloppy, unkempt looks as Godliness either. It is moderation where we need to be. We should not over-dress, in expensive things, nor should we go around looking like some hippy or dirty, uncaring person. Neither one is Godliness. Some people take this so far, as to say pajamas are sin for women. I say, phooey. If that is what she wants to sleep in, how could that be sin? When we first saw that a woman was supposed to wear her hair hanging down, as a covering, my sister was so far to the right, that she would not even pin her hair back to take a bath. I said this is just silly. I pin mine up to take me bath, else it would be wet every time. That is just silly. It is not of Grace. Grace is not a license to sin or just do as we please. But it gives us the understanding to do things in a Holy and Godly manner, without crossing anything God did tell us. By: Jo Smith From: Freeborn551
