I ahve read this scripture many times over and wanted to know this. We all know that this scripture is talking about Jesus. And if you did not know. Then I am telling you that it is. What was he going to eat? What does that mean? Can anyone tell me? Tweety

Isaiah 7:14-16 (KJV)
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Now girl.  You is trying to go so deep.  wow.  that is getting down to good stuff.  very good question.

I do not have time right now to do much on this, but I will show you how to get to the depth of it.  As you know, I have lots to do now, getting ready for our trip.  But I still mean to do all that I can here also.

But you are going down into the Scriptures like it takes.  So all I am going to do right now is point you in the right direction.

OK?

Let take a look at 1Cor 3:1--Paul said he could not speak to them as unto spiritual, for they were carnal, because they were seperating the men of God, instead ofseeing them as ONE.
They were babes.  So he said,  I can onlyFEED you milk, and not MEAT.
Now BUTTER comes from MILK, right?

Now think on this for a minute.  Is Paul speaking about literally feeding this church natual food?  course not.  It is spiritual talk.

why did he say he had to feed them onlyMILK, and not MEAT?  Because they were babes, or carnal.

So, they could not take the deep things of the Word.  Paul was feeding them the WORD, not a glass of real milk.  It is a spiritual symbol.

People who do not believe in spiritual symbols are out in the dark and will remain there forever.

Milk is the food of infants, right?  So the law is a school master...when do we live under a school master?  in our youth.

There people were fighting over ministers.  they were still under the law, believing women had to remain silent.

They did not see that the CHURCH is made up of both sexes, and they are both called WOMAN.

So to pinpoint females, and say we have to be silent, is carnality and darkness.  These people ate only milk.
no meat.

Now, honey, SYMBOLIZES, the SWEETNESS of the Word.

It gives us strength.  Three prophets were told to eat the book or the Word.  It was as HONEY in their mouths.  So it is not natural food.  It is the pure truth of Scripture.

Butter has a meaning of TO JOIN.  Strong's Heb.#:2346. It also means a wall of protection.

Now that is powerful.  Jesus came to give us that wall of protection and to join us together as ONE new man, in Christ.

His truth or his light, is our wall of protection, or the BUTTER of the word.

Now only those more mature in the Word can EAT  BUTTER.
It is higher up than just milk.
It is unity.
It is understanding truth to stop fighting about this man or that man...and to seethem all as ONE.

Jesus did that.  He brought us thatMESSAGE, OR FOOD.

Jesus ATE the Word of God, as God put it into his mouth.  Jesus ate the butter (mature oneness truth)  and the protection of the saints from Satan, and the sweetness (honey) of the Word of God.

He gave us that WALL OF PROTECTION, or the BUTTER of the Word.  He ate it all his life.

John ate LOCUSTS and wild HONEY.   iS THAT ALL John had for natural food?

Not for one minute.  Again, it was his ministry.  Who are the LOCUSTS in Rev?

It is the saints who bring the judgment.  So John had the AXcutting down the OT trees.  He brought them judgment.  He was of the LOCUSTS ministers.  He had also the HONEY or the pure sweetness of the TRUTH.

Hope this helps.

great study.  Maybe Larry or someone else can add to this.  Bet John has something good to add.

Ole jons reads dis hear smewhers

Honey, we have established, is the taste of the Word of God. Milk is the sustenance that is needed to bring a child from weakness to strength, from immaturity into maturity.

Peter uses this illustration in his first epistle:

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation (1Pe 2:2)

Hebrews also uses the same illustration:

Hebrews 5:12-15 (King James Version)

12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Oks, so whats dis is saying

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Honey and the unmistakable taste of God's word. We need God's word if we are to grow into maturity. Without it we will stay in infancy.

Proverbs 30:33

"Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter,

So you want to know how to produce butter? You churn the milk to bring forth butter.

Dat is whats yall ares doing nows. U r churing the milks and you is gonna brings forth butter

1 Samuel 14:29

Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

Honey has to do with the enlightening of the eyes. God provided the honey; we have to provide the churning. If we eat the butter, we need some honey to understand what the butter means

FROM MILK TO BUTTER

Isaiah 28:9

"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make tounderstand doctrinethem that areweaned from the milkand drawn from the breasts."

You’ve got to get away from the milk. And the way you get away from the milk is you learn to churn it and turn it into butter.

Yalls is churning and churning, in othet words u is being weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts and churning { getting into the butter , the word). He is teaching yalls knowledge ot the butter (the word)

wells butter get backs to mys crawdads

yalls haz a goods nites

Wow!  That is a powerful and marvelous message, John.

Thanks.  Thank you for that precious FOOD of the Word.  It is truly Honey and BUTTER to my soul.

This is certainly a great study.  So glad Tweety started this.  Love it!

Churn that milk.   that milk is the LAW.  grow up and come into GRACE, or the butter and honey and meat.

This ties in to what I am studying about Milk and Honey.

Remember when God said he would bring the children of Israel

Into a land flowing with milk and honey? Well I was reading it with

A carnal mind. But milk like you said is for babes. And honey is
The Word of God. I got to get my scriptures together about this.

Love you.
