Thinking of you
When all the business of this day is over and I stop to rest
I will be thinking of you.
When the sun sets in the west
I will be thinking of you.
When the stars are shining bright and you have no light
I will be thinking of you.
The birds go to sleep; the rabbits go to their hole
They know not that I have no one to hold.
But I am still thinking of you.
You gave me great joy; you gave me your best.
The times we had together will be enough for me
Until I also enter into eternal rest.
All the time my life is in my breast
I am still thinking of you.
When at last we stand together again in the glorious land
All of life’s hurt and sadness will no longer matter.
We will gladly leave it all behind and listen to the children chatter.
We will all be there enjoying the heavenly band.
The short space spent here alone
Will seem nothing as we are given our new birthstone.
I will sing you a lovely song
For I spent my waiting time here
Thinking of you.
