Only in my dreams

I see your smiling face and hear your bubbling laughter

And know that from here after

I shall be escorted to new heights or so it seems

But only in my dreams.

I hold you one more time

And it is joy sublime.

Together we soar the heavens and climb

The highest mountains to find

Treasure beyond compare because you are there;

But only in my dreams.

I walked a million miles and it seemed like only one.

For I could once more with you have  fun.

There is nothing I would not do to hear your voice

 This would make my whole world rejoice.

We are now visiting each and every star.

We will yet reach worlds afar.

The sun is the limit and the moon is a trip.

Together we take a ship

And sail to paradise.

To be with you again I would make any sacrifice. 

When again you are here we will walk every trail;

Play in every valley and dale.

We will climb every tree and play in the sea.

I hear you squealing with glee.

But only in my dreams.

So, sleep on.  Sweet sleep.  Here I do not weep.

For only in my dreams do you appear.

I know that you are near

And I hear you say,  Mama, I love you.

So, sleep forever until it is real and I see you

Again.  And it is not only in my dreams.
