Here is why we see people so hardened you cannot get them to listen to one word;  cancer has eaten up their inward soul as they listen to and held to lies so long:
The lie-maker is the one who perverts the Words of God even one tiny bit. To add to, take away from, or change even one Word of God makes it a lie. This lie then goes into the inward parts, (our spirit) and that causes violence in the inward parts. This means separation from God. It grows, as our lips speak more and more lies, then the destruction grows inside one. It is a spiritual cancer. Wow. God just gave me something else. Watch this.

2Tim 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers

. 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 2Tim 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
See how he said their words eats like a canker, or cancer. Words did this; ate away their soul. See he said their babblings (their false words) increased to more UNGODLINESS. As one speaks false words, it increases the ungodliness in their inner most being. This eats them up as a cancer. And it proves the message about the lies being the seed of the violence on earth.
