Bidding this word goodbye

When I bid this world goodbye,

It is not a time to sit and cry.

Rejoice with me for I will then meet my Lord.

Seeing Him will be my great reward.

And even though I do not wish to leave you all

I have many loved ones who are already there and I will meet the great Paul.

Not only the loved ones that I knew but the many Whom I will meet for the first time. 

Just think what a glorious day that will be when I reunite with all those friends of mine.

Sometimes we must endure a heartache for a while

To enjoy the glory when we walk that last mile.

We just cross over into a perfect life

That will be free from all trouble and strife.

God said eye has not seen and ear has not heard

The glory He has prepared for those who studied his Word.

Getting to see the glory of the stars and the moon

Makes on one wish to move there very soon.

To walk down streets of pure Gold 

And see the lights of that City unfold

Causes the heart to cry, Let me not grow old

But allow me to see this beauty that I have been told.

It is very exciting and so inviting

To think of all that I will be sighting.

The few minutes of grief you might feel

Will be nothing compared to seeing this that is so real.

And so I ask you, rejoice with me

When at last I can this troubled world flee.

If you live your life for God

You too can join me there and in that city trod.
