Freeborn.
As I was studing Revelations. I had just started to read and them I saw this verse.

Revelation 1:17-18 (KJV)
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

What are the keys of hell and death?

I think Jesus said he gave us the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Which is the WORD of GOD. There are 2 keys in the above verse.

Love ya.

Re:What are the Keys

Remember, it once said that Jesus went into hell to destroy the one who had the power of death?  this power or authority, is the KEY.

Satan, or Adam, had all of this at first.  He had the power of death and hell, for it was He who took the people into DEATH.  by one MAN, Adam, sin and death entered this world.  So death passed on all men.

But when Jesus died, and rose again, he was given this authority, or key.  He now can deliver us from that death.

We were all in PRISON, and then Jesus took that key and opened that prison door.

imagine, most people just stare out the door, not having any idea that it is now open and they do not have to stay in prison, or death.

so they remain imprisoned, even after Jesus opened that door and set us free.

Great question.  This is the only way to learn....by noticing these things and seeking the answers.  Most people just read words, without any understanding that they do not understand.

everyone who remains in Adam, are dead.  But those who are baptized into Christ, are set free, by the key or authority now given to Jesus.

thanks,
Jo
