Hamongog

In Ezekiel 39 we find that Israel will be seven months burying Gog.  The valley where they bury these ‘dead’ bodies is called HAMONGOG.

Why?

What is Hamongog?

Who or what is Hamon in Scripture?  Who or what is Gog?  The spelling is a bit different, but the only mention of any hamon in Scripture is this in Ezekiel.  The only person in Scripture to be called this was Haman, in the book of Esther.

In my message of Eze   39, I explained that Gog is representing sinners, or the enemies of our soul.  We, the true people of God, the only true Jew or Israel, are being fought by this gog, or our sinful, outer man.  This is what we must destroy so the inner man, the Christ can live.

God revealed to me that the burying of Gog is fulfilled by the NT baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.  This is the cleansing that God made possible for us.  In Romans 6 and Col 2, we are told that in baptism we are buried with Christ, buried into his DEATH and then raised in the likeness of his resurrection;  to new life.

This is what God was speaking of in the burying of Gog.  It truly means putting to death our old sinful man and being raised to new life in Christ Jesus.  We BURY that old Gog or sinful man.

So then, why is the valley where they bury Gog called Hamongog?  It goes back to Haman in the book of Esther.

First let’s see what strong’s has to say about Hamongog and Hamonah.  Hammond is the feminine of Hamon, or a noise, tumult, confusion, roar, multitude.  So it shows that it is a lot of people, who are confused.  This is represented by Haman or a man who hated the Jews, or God’s people.  The confused church world, not knowing any truth of who Jesus was and is and who is God, is this Hamonah.

I copied this from the Strongs, about Hamongog:  AV - Hamongog 2; 2

Hamon-gog = "multitude of Gog"

1) the name to be given to a valley of graves; ravine or glen, now
known as 'the ravine of the passengers', located on the east side
of the Dead Sea

The name of the valley of graves….this is great.  So this ‘valley’  is the same thing as the valley of decision or the place where we drop our old sinful self and renew it in Christ.  This then would be the WATERY GRAVE.

The place we are baptized into the death of Jesus or in the name of Jesus Christ to get our sins remitted.

Notice, it is said to be located on the east side of the DEAD SEA.  So the dead sea would be the world of sinners.  On the ‘east of a place, means going away from it.  So this is powerful:  as we go into that watery grave to get our sins remitted, we are going away from that DEAD SEA;  raised to walk in newness of life.  Such glory!  Such amazing revelation.    And I am here to tell you, this truth is not OUT THERE.  You will not find it.  All kinds of carnal junk is out there, but not this truth.

Now back to Haman:  This man hated Mordecai, a Jew and uncle of Esther.  Mordecai would not bow to Haman as others did and this infuriated Haman.  He did not know that the queen, Esther, was a Jewish.

After the king learned that Mordecai had at one time saved the king’s life, he asked Haman to decide what the king should do to the man He wished to honor.

Since Haman was close to the king and felt he was at the top of the list of honorable men, he supposed the King was speaking of himself.  So Haman laid out what he truly wanted to have done for himself.

He wanted one of the king’s special men to put this ‘to-be-honored’ person on the king’s special horse and lead him through town, calling out, This is the man the King is pleased to honor.

The king then told Haman to do this to Mordecai.

Oh the humiliation.  But Haman had to do this to the man he hated.  After Haman went home, in humiliation, and told his wife and friends what he had been through, they suggested that he build a gallows to hang Mordecai on.

Hamon had gotten the king to set a day on which all the Jews in his kingdom should be killed.  Mordecai had gotten Esther to go to the king and plead for her people.  Up until this time, the king had not known that Esther was a Jew or kin to Mordecai.

She set up a supper for the king and Haman to come to.  Afterwards, when she told the king about the evil of Haman toward her people, the King went out of the room and Haman fell on the bed with Esther to plead for his life.

The king came back into the room and thinks that Haman is trying to force the queen.  This sets the King into a rage and he had Haman hung on the same gallows that he had meant to hang Mordecai on.

Also he gave the Jews a right to defend themselves and they were saved from the slaughter that Haman had planned for them.

The ten sons of Haman are also killed and then hung on the gallows that Haman built for Mordecai.

So it is of this very story that the valley of Hamongog is named.  Why?  It is showing that the  one who is our enemy, (self or sinful Adam), must be destroyed or killed;  crucified and then BURIED.

The water, where we bury that old sinful man, get his sins remitted, is this valley of Hamongog.  It is where we see through this evil old man, self, and bury him, so we can then be raised in the likeness of Christ.

The city where is valley is, is called Hamonah.  Strong’s says this is the feminine of Hanongog.  So it is showing the bringing together of the people of God, into ONE NEW MAN, WHERE THERE IS NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE, BUT WE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.

Esther 8:2

And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

This is marvelous…showing that Jesus takes away the power from old adam, our sinful person, and puts that power into the hands of the New Man, the  saved Christ person we have become.
