Your light went out today

and therefore I do not know what to say.

I will miss you more than I can tell

but pray you found happiness without the vail.

Each person has a light to shine.

and none can ever replace thine.

You have now escaped the horrors here

but we still will shed many a tear.

Are you happy now in your new home?

Now you will no more have to roam.

You had more than your share

of hardship beyond compare.

God had mercy and delivered thee

 from the coming catastrophe.

But I shall miss hearing from you

as the grass would miss the dew.

I looked forward to hearing the 'tic'

and knowing you had sent me a trick.

We discussed things silly and things deep.

Nothing from you was ever 'cheap'.

What was it like to journey to the heavenly world?

Did you encounter marvels unfurled?

Did you see stars and the moon

and say, I will be there soon?

I will think of you this way so as not to grieve too much.

It is so hard to know that we will never again get in touch.

I wish I could have told you goodby

and wished you a happy journey to the 'by and by'.

But for now I will only say I have loved you from the day you were born.

and now I can only for you mourn and my heart is torn.

It is hard to believe that you are now gone.

But I look for a new day to dawn.

Someday Jesus will bring you all back again and there will be no more sorrow. no more death.  no more sickness and homelessness.  Rest in Peace, My dear Carol.
