Bird out of a cage
The little door was left open.
The caged little bird looked and then;
Since he had long longed to see the outside world,
He took his chance and said, Now I can give it a whirl.
He flew to the door and hid
Waiting for someone to open the lid.
Quickly he sneaked past
And said I am free at last.
He flew away and never returned.
His hopes of a new life must not be ruined.
He said, I must fly far away
Lest they bring me back to stay.
His joy at finally seeing the trees
And feeling the wonderful breeze
Caused the little bird to sing and sing.
He thought, what a wonderful and glorious thing.
For many days he enjoyed his new life.
He thought this was great without any strife.
He spent many day and hours
Exploring the lakes and flowers.
But one day trouble came and he was in danger.
A big dark bird over head was a stranger
But the little bird knew he must hide or be eaten alive.
He said I will return to my home where I can thrive.
The lady was so happy when she heard a tiny knock.
She quickly ran to the door to unlock.
She screamed for joy when she saw her little boy.
He soon was snuggled down safely in his little cage
And thought, never again will I engage
On such a wild rage.
