My life was a mess, I was broken and torn. All I could do was groan and morn Then there was you. Twice I lay dying and was still trying to live. I knew I had much love in me to give. But there was no one who wished to receive This love or even in me to believe. Then there was you. Many times my heart said, just give up and die. There is no reason to even try. Why should I fight through all this pain When I know full well there is nothing to gain. Then there was you. Time after time I tried again to find love and joy. I kept hoping to finally find the real McCoy. But each ‘find’ was doomed to fail. My life was now a living hell. Then there was you. All of a sudden a great light broke through. Now I was so excited as I knew something good would ensue. When for the first time I looked into your eyes I knew I had now found my great prize. For now, there was you. In such a short time you have mended my heart. Now I have a joy that will never depart. I give praise and thanks to God above For sending me this lovely turtledove. For Now, all I need is you.
