This amazing gift

Each day of life is a great gift from God.

Each trial and each mile that we have trod

Is to prepare us for something much greater

Than this life, which seems to be an elevator.

One day we are up on a cloud

We feel so great and so proud.

But then, the storm hits and we tumble.

We must learn along the way not to stumble.

The sun is setting on another day.

We ponder, what did I accomplish or say?

Will God be pleased or will HE say depart?

If you wish to be in my kingdom, you must love me with all your heart.

The darkness is closing in;  the night sky will soon appear.

Our only hope for tomorrow is to know that God is near.

The things that so beset us are the things that mold

And shape us so that we may his glorious face behold.

It is not for us to have fun until each day is done.

It is not for us to make loads of money.

Life was not meant to be funny.

It is not even meant to bring us much joy.

If you live only for self, your life it will destroy.

Problems, trials, temptations and heartbreak

Must be overcome if we wish in the resurrection to awake.

We must be tried and proven; a life of ease will not help you prepare.

If you fail and walk away from God you will not in his glory share.

As the sun sets on another day

We must seek God and pray.

You must see that this gift of life is a proving-ground.

We have only one time around.

Tribulation, hurt, problems, sickness, and all manner of pain

Are also gifts from God, for without these eternal life you will not gain.

We are put on this earth for one reason; we have only one season

To get things right and to worship God and His Son.

Many people will fail and end up in hell.

They refuse to live as God has commanded.

Eternal life they will not be handed.

Better had they not been born than from God to be torn.
